Convert Excel to JSON Online

Paste a table, drop a file, or edit one in the grid. Export it as JSON, CSV, Excel, Markdown, SQL, XML, YAML, LaTeX, PDF or any of 39 formats. Your data is parsed by JavaScript running on this page, so nothing is uploaded and the size of the file is limited only by your own machine.

From

The only part of this site that uses a server. The address is sent to it so the page can be fetched, because a browser is not allowed to fetch someone else's page itself. Your own files are never involved.

Nothing here is uploaded. The parsing happens on this page.
Edit
Paste or upload something above and it will appear here.

The output will appear here once there is a table to convert.

1. Bring your data

Paste it, drop a file on the box, or load an example. The format is detected from the content, so you do not have to tell it what you have.

2. Fix it in the grid

Rename headers, delete a stray column, transpose a table that came in sideways, or run a find and replace across every cell.

3. Take the output

Pick a format, set the options that matter for it, then copy the result or download the file.

Questions

Is my data uploaded to a server?

No. Every conversion runs as JavaScript on this page. You can open your browser's network tab, convert a file, and watch that nothing is sent. That is also why there is no size limit.

How many formats does Tablizer support?

18 formats can be read and 39 can be written, which makes roughly 350 conversion pairs. Every one of them goes through the same internal table, so the behaviour is consistent across all of them.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no signup, no email wall and no daily cap. The site is free and paid for by the ads in the content below the tool.

How large a file can it handle?

The parsing runs in a Web Worker, so the page stays responsive while it works. A 50,000-row CSV parses in about a second. The real ceiling is your browser's memory rather than any limit set here.

Can I edit the data before exporting?

Yes. The grid between the input and output panels is editable. You can transpose it, delete empty rows and columns, remove duplicates, change case, sort by any column and run a find and replace with regular expressions.

Does converting lose anything?

It depends on the pair, and each conversion page says exactly what. Excel to CSV loses formulas, formatting and every sheet past the first. JSON to CSV flattens nesting. YAML to JSON loses comments. Nothing is dropped silently.
